Welding Rod I.D. (inside diameter) rings: 1) Specified when the brazing ring is to pre-placed on the outside of a tube 2) Little or no gap is preferred to allow the ring to expand and fit tightly on the tube without a substantial absence of filler metal in any area O.D. (outside diameter) rings: 3) Specified when the brazing ring is to be pre-placed on the inside of a tube or fitting 4) A gap is required to allow the ring to contract and fit tightly inside the coupling without overlapping Helix on I.D. rings: helix is kept to a minimum to facilitate automatic loading and prevent tangling Partial or multiple turn rings are available upon requests. Tolerances can often be held more tightly than the indicated standard tolerances at additional cost. This information must be specified on the original order. Drawings are not mandatory, but are preferred. Mandrels (dowels) O.D. rings are available on mandrels to prevent tangling. Extra charges depend on ring size and quantity. Packing: polyethylene bags, over packed in corrugated carton, approximately 20,000 pieces per container (depending on ring size). Each box specifies the exact liquidus temperature on phos/copper alloys.
